Der geborene Berliner (aufgewachsen in Herzogtum-Lauenburg) sammelte seine erste musikalische Erfahrungen als Schlagzeuger und Sänger in verschiedenen Bands. Mike Mareen ist seit Mitte 70er im Musikgeschäft tätig, schrieb und komponierte einige bedeutsame Schlager und Coverversionen. Erst mit dem 1982 gegründetem Musiklabel -Night n Day- mit dem er Nachwuchskünstlern helfen wollte, gelingt ihm der Durchbruch. Die erste Single -Dancing In The Dark- erreichte gleichzeitig in 27 Ländern Platz 1 der Dance-Charts und wurde über eine Nacht einer der Show-Acts in Europa geworden. Sein kommerzieller Durchbruch gelang ihm im Sommer 1986 mit der Single -Love Spy-, von der weltweit über 6,5 Millionen Schallplatten verkauft wurden. Mit der Nachfolge Single -Agent Of Liberty- konnte dieser Erfolg in Ansätzen bestätigt werden. Parallel entstanden wichtige Disco Produktionen (D.J.s Project, Amadeus Liszt, Shipra) die er mit dem bekanntem ex-Modern Talking co. Produzenten Luis Rodriguez in Star Studio zeichnete. In der Konsequenz führten all die Errungenschaften zur Herausgabe von zwei Alben und über hundert weiterer Produktionen. Heute, mehr als 30 Jahre danach sind die Meilensteine der Disco-Zeit immer noch auf Tournee und ein wichtiges Teil der erfolgreichen CD Serie -THE ORIGINAL MAXI-SINGLES COLLECTION- geworden. Im Booklet finden Sie all die original Schallplatten-Cover Abbildungen und eine von den Original Bändern 32 Bit remasterete CD, die Erinnerungen wieder wach werden lässt.
