The book is an analysis of the Historiography of Ethiopia from the point of view of the history of Tigray. The book emphasizes the immediate causes and reasons for the decline and diminishing role of Tigreans in the broader Ethiopian political spectrum. It articulates why and how the Tigrayan nation yielded its prominent role and became a junior partner in the Ethiopian politics. Along with this, it is important to note that Tigreans, have rebelled against injustice and bad governance in a bid to bring back past glory, strength, equality, justice and human dignity. Ethiopia has so passed through 12 major recorded Tigrayan rebellions in its history against injustice. The book also deals about a number of medieval and 19th century travelers and/or historians and their works who by intent or mere chance happen to traverse or stay in some way or the other in Tigray. Their works have served as an eye opener and point of reference to the inner and broader history of Tigray and its people. Finally, the book has examined the history of Tigray in relation to the wider history of Ethiopia. In a nutshell, the book is all about the cultural and political history of Ethiopia from a Tigrayan perspective.
