Ulysses is a novel by Irish writer James Joyce, and it was published for the first time as a series in the American newspaper (The Little Review) between March 1918 and December 1920, then published by Silvia Beach in Paris in a book released on February 2, 1922. This novel is one of the most prominent works in modernist literature, even it was considered a model and a total of the entire movement. The novel records the Lubold Bloom line inside the city of Dublin during a normal day is June 16, 1904 (the date of the first meeting between Joyce And his wife later Nora Barnackel), and the title refers to Odysseus (whose name was quoted from Latin to Yolis (Aulis)), who is the hero of Odessa Homer, and opens the way for several budgets between the characters and events of the Homer epic and between the characters and events of Joyce novel (for example: the balance between Leopold Bloom And Aulis, between Molly Blum and Benillopi, and between Stephen Didalus and Tlemak). Joyce fans in various countries of the world celebrate the so -called "Bloomsday" on June 16 of each year. Joyce uses in the novel "Illis" a dictionary of 30 thousand singles, including flags, plural formulas and various deeds), and the novel is divided into 18 chapters. Since the novel published a lot of controversy and criticism, among them has banned the novel for a period of accusation of pornography, and what was known as the Joyce Wars about the novel. What makes the novel is of distinctive value in the history of modernity literature, using the technique of awareness of awareness, its structure, and its burden by embodying the characters and the sense of humor. In 1998, the novel topped the list of 100 best novels in English in the twentieth century.
