It rests on three convictions that were the historic mainstream of Christian teaching for most of church history, long before a very different system was introduced in the 1830s: that the great prophecies were largely fulfilled in the first century, that Christ is reigning right now rather than waiting to begin, and that Jews and Gentiles who trust the Messiah form one covenant family rather than two separate programs.
