A Rocky Start

Thinking only of the past, the question becomes can someone see all the promises and potential the future holds...

Leaving the family legacy behind at twenty-eight years of age, Rachel takes a leap of faith on her own. Pursuing the goal she's had since a teen, Rachel is in a new state, living alone in a garage apartment, and ready to take her seat as a freshman at Chadwick East. However, arriving late to her first class, dressed like Barbie's little sister, and getting caught talking in class like a seventh grader, she is not off to a good start...

Standing in the way of Rachel's success is the professor known to be the handsomest and meanest on campus. Dr. Thornton makes a habit of thinking the worst and expecting the most. Intentionally intimidating and pushing his students to the brink, it leaves one to wonder why. The question is whether he is willing to drop the baggage weighing him down to see the blessings right in front of him.

Rachel is struggling with self-doubt and second-guessing her decisions. The professor is reluctant to rid himself of the mean persona and the tragedies of the past. Will they follow the new path God has in store?

It is a journey full of twists, surprises, and jaw-dropping moments. Yet, despite the rocky start, it just may lead them both on a path to trust and reconciliation, possibly even love.
