Apostate - Murtad and his punishment in Islam

I know what general thinking is on this subject, and what is the punishment who commit apostasy. In a nutshell, he must be killed. When this ruling was enacted or this punishment was prescribed, I don't know what the social, political and tribal situation at that time was, so I am no one to criticise or discard that prescription.

However, Allah Almighty further clarifies:

Whoever disbelieves in Allah after their belief-not those who are forced while their hearts are firm in faith,1 but those who embrace disbelief wholeheartedly -they will be condemned by Allah and suffer a tremendous punishment.

The question is are we sufficiently tolerant to leave these matters in the hands of Allah Almighty? He can decide what He should do with these people. We don't need to take out our anger and frustration accumulated within ourselves because of various reasons and encourage mobs to take the law into their hands and become judge, jury, and executioner.

Remember, when we let the mobs take matters of society into their hands and let them decide who to kill or burn, whom they think is a culprit, then there will be no one safe. If someone has done something wrong, then let the courts decide. The courts and law enforcement agencies must not be held hostage by religious fanatics or other mafias in society.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran:

Surely those who offend Allah (by attributing children to Him or associating gods with Him in worship) and His Messenger (by calling him a liar or speaking ill of him and his family) are condemned by Allah in this world and the Hereafter. And He has prepared for them a humiliating punishment.
