Black Ridge

THE MOUNTAIN DOESN'T BURY BODIES.

In the town of Mercy, nestled in a freezing Colorado valley, there are rules. Once you cross the snow line:

Never whistle.
Never strike the warm rocks.
And if you hear a voice calling your name in the storm... never answer.

Denver detective Sharon Vance comes to Mercy for one reason: a missing professor, and the list of thirty-one disappearances he left behind, every one written off as an accident. She wants answers. But the last plea for help to crackle over the radio from the mountain named only one person: Thea Morgan, a seasoned search-and-rescue leader.

Now two women, and one very loyal dog, must climb into a mountain that does not behave like rock.

Trails that fold back on themselves. Thousands of closed eyes twitching beneath the ice. An ancient hunter that hijacks radio frequencies and uses stolen voices, even your own, to call you out into the dark.

As a forty-second ghostly loop on the radio grows clearer every night, Sharon and Thea realize they aren't just climbing to the summit. The mountain is pulling them deep within itself.

No secret left in the dark ever freezes to death.

BLACK RIDGE: THE LIVING MOUNTAIN is the first book in the Black Ridge series: supernatural survival horror for readers who like their dread slow, cold and impossible to switch off.
