Es ist dies die Edition des ältesten Wörterbuchs einer Kreolsprache, 1767/68 verfaßt, zusammen mit einer etwa gleichzeitig entstandenen Wortliste zur gleichen Kreolsprache, dem auf den damals dänischen Jungferninseln gesprochenen Negerhollands. Die mehr als 3400 Einträge sind in Art und Umfang sehr unterschiedlich, sie reichen von einer einfachen Übersetzung des deutschen Lemmas bis hin zu langen Artikeln mit phraseologischen und syntaktischen Beispielen sowie metalinguistischen Kommentaren. Das Wörterbuch ist ein wichtiges Sprachdokument aus der Frühzeit einer Kreolsprache, was in bescheidenerem Maße auch für die unter dänischem Einfluß entstandene Wortliste gilt, und es ist ein in seiner Art herausragendes Dokument zur Lexikographie im 18. Jahrhundert im deutschen Sprachraum.
