The apartments are new. The wiring is modern. But something inside the house still remembers.

When Romy Sloane moves into one of the beautiful apartments inside the great yellow house overlooking Bristol's M32, she expects history, character and perhaps a few inconvenient quirks from an old building.
She does not expect her phone camera to show a room that disappeared decades ago.
Soon, her neighbours begin experiencing impossible things of their own.
An electric toothbrush turns a bathroom mirror into a window onto the building's
institutional past. Headphones carry more than sound. A kettle brings an old hospital
kitchen roaring back to life. And through the current come names belonging to real people
who once walked these rooms - including cook Florence Williams and former patient Cyril
Harris.
Curious neighbour Vesper Crowe begins digging into the history of Stoke Park, uncovering
its years as a vast hospital complex, its connection with pioneering electroconvulsive
therapy, and the thousands of lives that passed through the site.
Slowly, a disturbing possibility emerges.
Perhaps electricity does more than power a building.
Perhaps it remembers.
And while most of the dead seem to need wires, sockets and switches to reach the present,
one woman has been walking these grounds since long before electricity arrived.
As the manifestations grow stronger, senior maintenance man Arthur Bellamy discovers
something buried beneath decades of renovation: remnants of an older electrical system
that should have disappeared years ago.
