When museums, libraries, and historic theaters close for the night, the public leaves-but the buildings do not always fall silent. In these twenty-five paranormal encounters, night guards, custodians, contractors, technicians, ushers, couriers, inspectors, and temporary workers describe what happened while they were cleaning floors, checking cameras, repairing systems, moving crates, counting tickets, or completing one final round. None of them were searching for ghosts. They were simply trying to finish the job.

Each account begins with ordinary work and ends with evidence that refuses to fit: altered records, impossible footage, unexplained audio, missing rooms, displaced objects, and witnesses who should not have been there.
