Damit die Ermittlung einer Differenz einen Nutzen für das Unternehmen bringt, muss dieser eine Abweichungsanalyse folgen, um die Ursachen und Gründe feststellen zu können, warum eine Differenz aufgetreten ist und die Ziele nicht erreicht wurden. Erst dann können Maßnahmen zur Beseitigung und zukünftigen Vermeidung der Abweichungen getroffen werden. Als wesentliches Intrument des Controlling stellt die Abweichungsanalyse Gegenstand dieser Arbeit dar, die die Aufgabe hat die ermittelte Gesamtabweichung in einzelne Teilabweichungen aufzuspalten, um dadurch eindeutige Abweichungsursachen identifizieren zu können.
