Zu dieser Zeit fanden mehrere große, von holsteinischen Leibeigenenverbänden geführte Prozesse statt. Ein allgemeiner Teil behandelt Wesen und Begriff der Leibeigenschaft, die Entstehung und Entwicklung der holsteinischen Leibeigenschaft sowie deren rechtliche und gerichtliche Rahmenbedingungen. Im besonderen Teil werden vor allem die Schmoeler Leibeigenschaftsprozesse, sodann die Streitigkeiten auf den Gütern Ahrensburg, Großenbrode, Nütschau/Sühlen und Kronshagen behandelt.
