Dieses Buch gibt eine Einführung in die Maß- und Integrationstheorie und beantwortet die Frage, warum es so schwierig ist, eine Lösung für das sogenannte Maßproblem zu finden. Dazu werden zunächst Mengensysteme und messbare Abbildungen vorgestellt. Es folgt die Klärung der Begriffe Inhalt, Prämaß und Maß. Daran schließt sich eine Ausführung über die Unlösbarkeit des o.g. Maßproblems an. Den Abschluss bildet die Integration von (messbaren) Abbildungen bezüglich eines Maßes. Zur besseren Verständlichkeit werden im Anhang Mengen und mengentheoretische Grundlagen, Abbildungen und Relationen definiert und anhand von Beispielen erläutert. Zielgruppe dieses Buches sind in erster Linie Studierende an Fachhochschulen im Studiengang Mathematik sowie Studiengänge mit mathematischen Schwerpunkten. Darüberhinaus eignet sich das Buch auch als Einstiegsliteratur für Studierende der Mathematik an Universitäten.
