Every Single Link

There are five of us. I am the youngest - and the only one who came home to Christ.

For forty-five years I read my broken family as a verdict on me. Then I went looking through the whole Bible for one unbroken family - from the first man to my own kitchen table - and I couldn't find a single one. Not the first family. Not the man God saved off a drowning world. Not the friend of God. Not the man after God's own heart.

Trace the line of Jesus Christ all the way back to Adam and you find broken home after broken home - a drunk in a tent, brothers who sold their own blood, a murderer with a crown - handing the promise down the line like a bucket in a fire brigade. God never once ran His promise through a whole family. There weren't any.

Every single link is a broken family.

And that is not the reason God can't use you. It is the only thing He has ever used.

This is the book I never wanted to write. I wrote it for the man sitting in a cell and the man about to walk out of one - for every soul the world has already counted out, and everyone who has looked at their own bloodline and believed the damage was the final word.

Inside, you'll walk from the first fracture in Eden to the family Christ redefined with a single sentence: whoever does the will of God is My brother, and sister, and mother. You'll meet the last Adam who took the broken line and made it His own, the substitute who walked free in a guilty man's place, and the promise of a home where dysfunction finally becomes a former thing.

There is a family that outlasts the walls, the sentence, and the grave.
