According to the people in charge, Ghostland is a place where guests can watch the dead in their natural environments, recreated in painstaking detail on the grounds in Duck Falls, Maryland. All you need is one of their special Augmented Reality headsets, and their revolutionary "Recurrence Field" technology renders the hauntings "completely safe" to view....

Former best friends Ben Laramie and Lilian Roth reunite at Ghostland on opening day. Lilian, to face her fear of death head on. Ben, to confront the ghost of his former idol, deceased horror author Rex Garrote, whose haunted house is the park's star attraction.

But someone has a darker motive. A computer virus spreads throughout the park's many haunted attractions, gobbling up the code holding each spirit. Making them crave violence. Carnage. Vengeance.

Ben and Lillian suddenly find themselves trapped in an endless nightmare where nowhere is safe, and few can be trusted.

With time running short and the dead quickly outnumbering the living, they must use their wits and rely on each other to survive... or become Ghostland's newest exhibits.
