Five children of night-shift workers discovered the Graveyard Shift Academy underground. Miles became the Engine Room's keeper after fighting deferred maintenance. Esperanza became the Healing Ward's keeper after launching the Night Watch Clinic. Kwame became the Map Room's keeper after saving the 40 bus route. Jin became the Warehouse of Memory's keeper after saving four thousand worker records. New students Leo, Nia, Elijah, Amara, and Sonia joined the Academy. One keeper remains to be named. The Last Lift is the sixth book and grand finale in a six-book series. Each book followed one member of the original crew as they deepened their training, faced new challenges, and passed the Academy's knowledge on to the next generation of students.
