We're all just hoopties. What's a hooptie? The term, coined to describe an old or dilapidated car, puts a visual on all of us who make mistakes with regularity. We are often face to face with people who need the wisdom we've gained from what we've been through, and vice versa. Telling our stories helps others who are still in the midst of theirs. My hope is that if you have not yet begun a relationship with Jesus, one or more of the stories told by my friends will resonate in your life experiences and encourage you to do so. If you are already walking in a relationship with Jesus, you know that doing so doesn't automatically disqualify you from hurts, mess-ups, or desperate situations. In any case, I hope you find great strength and fresh wonder on these pages so that you can take a new grip with tired hands and strengthen your weak knees (Hebrews 12:12).
