Diese Arbeit thematisiert die Ratifikation der UNESCO-Konvention von 1970 durch die Schweiz und deren Umsetzung mittels des Bundesgesetzes über den internationalen Kulturgütertransfer (Kulturgütertransfergesetz, KGTG) sowie der dazugehörenden Verordnung. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit liegt in der Darstellung der Umsetzung der Konvention in nationales Recht sowie in den internationalen Standards des Kulturgüterschutzes. Dabei vergleicht der Autor das Kulturgütertransfergesetz mit dem Völkerrecht, dem Europäischen Gemeinschaftsrecht und der Umsetzung der UNESCO-Konvention von 1970 durch die USA und zeigt die jeweiligen Parallelen und Unterschiede auf. Ein besonderes Augenmerk richtet die Arbeit auf die Anpassung des Sachenrechts unter Berücksichtigung der Rechtsordnungen von Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien und Österreich.
