This book is about the thorny issue of rape in South Africa. It is about the young girl who was in her teenage stage doing grade 12. She was living with her parents in the rural area in KwaZulu Natal. Her home was situated near the forest. It was late in the night when Mandisa was walking back home, coming from her friend’s home after preparing for a mathematics paper which was going to be written the next day. After her friend went back to her home, Mandisa was walking alone heading home when two men came and forcefully took her to the forest and raped her. Mandisa stayed in the forest the whole night and she did not write her mathematics exam paper.
