This is our story of migrating to the United States
Wes and I lived in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, and met at a dance. It was the thing to do, and we had so much fun. After buying me "Kiss me gum", we fell in love and married on May 8th, 1929. Times were tough for jobs, and we heard of homesteading in Peace River, British Columbia. We made the difficult trip and had to clear the land for a road and to build our cabins. We had 150 acres at $2.00 per acre and spent many months felling trees, stripping the bark, and building our home. This story of our lives is one of difficulty, sacrifices, and making tough decisions to survive. During this interview, we sat down and documented our lives for all our grandchildren and their grandchildren. It's a true story of coming to America and building a family and a business that still exists today.
