Lost in the gloaming

The debut poetry collection of up and coming author Jks, Lost in the Gloaming is a short collection of over 40 poems of various styles and forms dedicated to a once thought lost love as a celebration of reconciliation and reunion of heart and soul. This compilation is organized from most simplistic to mesmerizingly elaborate as the book progresses across untold years, experiences and emotions.

This archive explores nearly the entire emotional spectrum, ranging across confusion, feelings of inadequacy, disbelief, depression, death, apprehension, and even the love and magic that comes from true romance after enormous bouts of personal tragedy paired with the dark imagery of suicide and mental illness. The poetry within mirrors both the perspective of the author's past struggles with feelings of inadequacy and the struggles of unrequited love, as well as her present self as she explores conflicting feelings of falling in love again after a long but necessary separation and the joy of unity.

Featured throughout are various references to pieces of Greek mythology, Irish and Scottish folklore, various superstitions, and religion intended to echo the spirituality that follows when you've finally been reunited with your other half.
