CJ Hooker was caught in the cycle of bipolar disorder long before he even knew its name. His manic highs burned through money, relationships, and trust. The crashing lows left him hollow, ready to give up, certain he was broken beyond repair.

But God wasn't finished with him.

Manic Grace is CJ's story: a story of failure and survival, reckless choices and undeserved mercy. From enlisting in the Army with dreams of the military, through mania that nearly cost him his marriage, to the night he came within reach of ending his life... This memoir doesn't clean up the wreckage for the page. It shows it, chapter by chapter, alongside honest reflection and Scripture.

What CJ has learned, and what he wants every reader to know, is this: faith and mental health aren't enemies. They can walk side by side. Healing doesn't come all at once: but it does arrive.

Manic Grace wasn't written to make CJ look good. It was written to remind you that you're not alone.

CJ Hooker is a licensed mental health counselor who has walked through bipolar disorder himself and believes no one is beyond hope. Manic Grace is his debut book. CJ lives in Eastern Washington with his family.
