Those who travel have stories to tell and this is the story of my cycling journey so far. It is about heading out into a world of endless possibilities and biting off more than I can chew.
I have enjoyed some of the very best days on my bike, life changing days. With others or by myself. I love the camaraderie and the solitude in equal measure. Riding is an unbridled joy. When I am not out on my bike, I am thinking about it.
I have tried most types of bike riding from road racing to mountain bikes and time trials, all with varying degrees of mediocrity. But cycling has taught me that just because things are hard, it does not mean they are impossible.
This book has stories of success and failure, of good days but no bad ones. No days spent riding can ever be bad. I hope that these stories will make you smile and perhaps nod gently to yourself when you remember your own journeys by bike.
