This book investigates the effects of difference in test format, which presents questions and options in different ways, on performance in multiple-choice listening tests. The presentation of questions and options varies according to timing and mode. Timing refers to whether questions and options are presented before or after the text. Mode refers to whether they are written or spoken. Although past research examined the effects of questions/options preview (i.e., timing difference) on multiple-choice listening test performance, few studies have investigated the effects of mode difference and the interaction between timing and mode on test performance.
