Im Lichte der kognitiven Sprach- und Texttheorie erweist sie sich jedoch als (Notizen-)Text, in dem die Dolmetscher ihr Verstehensresultat aus der Verarbeitung des Ausgangstextes so festhalten, dass es für die anschließende Produktion des Zieltextes zugänglich und verfügbar ist. Die Autorin entwickelt aus dieser Erkenntnis völlig neue Möglichkeiten der Beschreibung von Notation im Besonderen und (Konsekutiv-) Dolmetschen im Allgemeinen.
