The Vietnam War long over, Zachary Taylor Primrose and his former comrade in arms, Patrick Thomas Knight have started their own PI firm in Honolulu. When Sergeant T.J. DeSoto, U.S.M.C., disappears in the Middle East, his wealthy grandmother becomes Special Island Investigations' first client.
