Das Produkthaftungsgesetz (PHG) ordnet eine verschuldensunabhängige Haftung für die Hersteller und Importeure fehlerhafter Erzeugnisse an und hat sich zu einem der wichtigsten schadenersatzrechtlichen Nebengesetze entwickelt. Dabei muss auch die Judikatur des EuGH befolgt und die produkthaftungsrechtliche Entwicklung in den anderen EU-Staaten beobachtet werden. Die letzten dreizehn Jahre brachten zum PHG zahlreiche Entscheidungen des Obersten Gerichtshofs und einige Vorabentscheidungen des EuGH. Aus ihnen ergeben sich wesentliche Fortentwicklungen dieses bedeutsamen Rechtsbereichs. Die Neuauflage der bewährten PHG-Kommentierung beschränkt sich nicht auf Ergänzungen, sondern stellt eine vollständige Neubearbeitung des bisherigen Werks dar. Geliefert wird erneut eine umfangreiche Darstellung des PHG, der im Interesse der Praxis sämtliche relevante Entscheidungen des OGH und des EuGH als Judikatursammlung beigefügt sind.
