Welcome to Project 514 415: Exploring the Lived Experience of Endometriosis

We invite you to explore a powerful collection of art and literary works created by 145 individuals impacted by endometriosis-for the endometriosis community. This collection shares their lived experiences of living with endometriosis, which remains widely misunderstood, under-recognised, and under-supported.

Organised into seven chapters, this publication brings together stories, reflections, and creative expressions that honour each contributor's voice:

  • Chapters 1 & 2 present personal edits from each participant, alongside unedited submissions of art and literary works for Project 514 415 that are not featured in the 1-in-10 Poetry book. These pages showcase the unique perspectives, designs, and messages of the contributors, while also including the unedited submissions to ensure that everyone's experiences with endometriosis, who participated in Project 514 415, are represented.
  • Chapter 3 presents a selection of powerful art submissions not previously published. In this section, the original artworks are presented without additional edits, just as the artists intended.
  • Where Words Meet Art: Showcasing artwork inspired by the words of two featured poets.
  • Survey Says: A thematic analysis undertaken by Verity drawn from community responses, exploring life with endometriosis while studying, working, and navigating relationships. This section also includes a research report written by Chelsea shedding light on how supported the endometriosis community is in different settings.
  • In-Depth Insight: A collection of articles written by Chelsea and Eman, offering critical and personal reflections on the broader context of endometriosis care and awareness.
  • Achievements & Reflections: A collaborative look back at Project 514 415's journey-its milestones, challenges, community impact, and heartfelt moments.

Project 514 415: Exploring the Lived Experience of Endometriosis is a powerful collaborative book created by and for the endometriosis community.

Written and illustrated by 145 individuals impacted by endometriosis, this collection brings together art, literature, research, and lived experience to illuminate what life with endometriosis truly entails. Across seven chapters, readers will find deeply personal stories, unedited artworks, reflective poetry, and thought-provoking insights that challenge stigma and centre lived reality.

Project 514 415 is a testament to resilience and collective voice-a space where lived experience is acknowledged.
