From General Cornwallis in the waning years of the American Revolution to the flight of Jefferson Davis from the Confederate capital at Richmond with Union forces at his heels, history has not passed Jamestown by. The town has seen gold mines and gunsmiths, a forgotten school and a cotton mill from 1865 that's still spinning. Join local historian Mary A. Browning as she relates these short tales from the town's colorful past, drawn from her column in the "Greensboro News & Record."
