Lilliana 'Lia' Aspen has been best friends with Princess Acacia Laufauna since they were just little kids. Despite growing up together in the royal city of the country of Loaina, the two of them couldn't be any more opposite even if they tried. Acacia is headstrong and blunt whereas Lia is contemplative and awkward. They live in a time of peace and wondrous magic, but that doesn't stop Lia from feeling wholly unprepared when Acacia suddenly decides to leave her behind and go on an adventure.
This story should be about Acacia and her resolve to learn about the other countries before she becomes queen. Instead, it's about Lia and her quest to find and prove Acacia's innocence when their neighbouring country, Suan, accuses her of wreaking havoc. It should have been a simple retrieval mission, but the journey changes into a chance for Lia to grow and understand who she really is; with each country becoming a combination of culture shock and new experiences.
It's a story filled with humour, new bonds, relearning who you are, and maybe admitting that sometimes your whole situation is a Royal Pain.
