Dieses Lehrbuch bietet einen Einstieg in die Systemtheorie und liefert die Grundbausteine, um unterschiedlichste Anwendungen systemtheoretisch erfassen, beurteilen und entwerfen zu können.§Im Hauptkapitel Signale werden kontinuierliche und diskrete Signale behandelt. Nach Einführung der Fouriertransformation folgt die Beschreibung der Signale und Systeme im Frequenzbereich. Beim Übergang von kontinuierlichen zu diskreten Signalen und der Erläuterung ihrer Spektren wird auch die Abtastung als Übergang vom kontinuierlichen zum diskreten Signal eingeführt. Die schnelle Fouriertransformation wird ausführlich und verständlich hergeleitet. Weitere Schwerpunkte sind die Verteilungs- und die Verteilungsdichtefunktion sowie statistische Beschreibung von Zufallssignalen.§Im Hauptkapitel Systeme werden kontinuierliche und diskrete Systeme erläutert. Bei der Beschreibung kontinuierlicher Systeme im Zeitbereich wird die Faltung eingeführt. Es wird die Laplace-Transformation vorgestellt und der Fouriertransformation gegenübergestellt. Bei der Behandlung diskreter Systeme werden die z-Transformation und die diskrete Fouriertransformation herangezogen. §Das Lehrbuch ist logisch aufgebaut, gut strukturiert und verständlich. Zahlreiche vorgerechnete Beispiele, viele grafische Darstellungen und Übungsaufgaben ermöglichen einen fundierten Einstieg in das Fachgebiet.
