Tales of Hulan River is the masterpiece of renowned Chinese writer Xiao Hong and one of the most significant novels of the 20th century. Named among Asia Weekly's "100 Greatest Chinese Novels of the 20th Century," this book paints a vivid portrait of the fictional Hulan River town-drawn from the author's own childhood home-in a beautifully lyrical, prose-like style.
