Textproduktion ist ein prinzipiengeleiteter Prozeß, in dem externe (Situation und Wissen) und interne (konzeptuelle sowie lexikalische und syntaktische) Steuerungsfaktoren wirksam werden. In dieser Studie wird untersucht, welchen Einfluß externe Faktoren auf die Textproduktion haben. Anhand von 40 Instruktionen wird die Wirkung von Sachverhalt und kommunikativer Aufgabe sowie der Einfluß des Redepartners analysiert. Es zeigt sich, daß die Grundstruktur des Textes in monologischer wie auch in dialogischer Rede konstant bleibt, das heißt, daß die Rede bestimmt ist durch die Sachverhaltskonzeptualisierung des Sprechers und sich nicht durch Reaktionen und Nachfragen des Redepartners steuern läßt. Mit diesem Ergebnis wird die Vorstellung eines die Sprachproduktion umfassend prägenden Einflusses des Redepartners in Frage gestellt.
