As hidden fractures begin appearing inside the Lock, Chandra discovers the terrifying truth: the Threshold was never the first prison. Long before the Eternals arrived on Earth, another cosmic war shattered reality itself, creating ancient dimensional scars hidden beneath human civilization. The Seven Doors merely sealed one layer of a much larger catastrophe.
Now those deeper fractures are opening.
Meanwhile, humanity itself begins evolving under the lingering influence of the Emotional Apocalypse. Around the world, certain individuals develop unnatural emotional abilities tied to the Threshold. Some become healers capable of sensing emotional pain. Others become dangerously unstable, consumed by psychic obsession, rage, or hunger for power.
Religious movements rise worshipping Chandra as the Goddess of Balance.
Governments secretly weaponize Threshold survivors.
Ancient Veilborn Loyalists regroup beneath Europe, believing humanity can no longer be trusted with free will.
And hidden deep within the Lock, Lucien begins changing into something neither human nor Eternal as the Threshold continues merging with his soul.
But the greatest threat emerges from the darkness beyond reality itself.
The Ancient Ones are not trying to destroy humanity.
