Yanked

What if saving humanity's future depended on five teenagers from five different centuries?

In the year 2336, humanity has conquered war, disease, and poverty. But this seemingly perfect future has lost something essential: the grit, courage, and resourcefulness needed to face the unexpected.

When a human colony disappears on the distant planet Jump, scientists turn to an unusual solution: reach back through time and recruit five young people with the qualities their own generation lacks.

Meet Jason Ramsay, a basketball-playing teenager from 2019; Sharon Myers, a young girl responsible for an infant niece; Jofrid, a fierce Viking girl from tenth-century Iceland; Robbie, a streetwise pickpocket from nineteenth-century London; and Sor, a thoroughly civilized teenager from the future.

Thrown together on an unfamiliar alien world, these unlikely companions must overcome their differences, learn to work as a team, and discover what happened to the missing colony. But survival may demand more than any of them imagined.

With alien encounters, danger, humor, and unexpected twists, YANKED is an exciting science fiction adventure about courage, friendship, responsibility, and what it really means to be a hero.

From Hugo Award-winning author Nancy Kress, based on a concept by David Brin, comes a thrilling new adventure in the Out of Time series.
