In a post-apocalyptic world over 350 years in the future, the kingdom of Zerzura is an oasis in a world covered by sand and a haven for those fleeing the widespread radiation. However, the kingdom is ruled by the tyrant, King Titus, who now persecutes the same people who once sought refuge.
One day, an ordinary high schooler, Cassian Chromwood, rediscovers his family's old grandfather clock. Cassian learns that this mysterious clock has the power to travel through time, although it only takes you where you need to go, not where you want to go.
Upon arriving in this new world, Cassian is thought to be the prophesied Chosen One, there to free the people from Titus's reign. Cassian is joined by four other companions as they travel through the kingdom of Zerzura to the capital to defeat the king. But in order to save the world, Cassian must first learn to face his past and accept his own shortcomings, while also being willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.
