Aerodynamics is the sub-field of fluid dynamics and gas dynamics. Aerodynamics is a discipline associated with the study of motion of air and its interaction with the solid objects such as airplane. The concepts of mathematical analysis, wind tunnel experimentation, empirical approximations, and computer simulations are widely used in aerodynamics. Aerodynamics focuses on the issues like compressible flow, turbulence and boundary layers. The two branches of aerodynamics are incompressible aerodynamics and compressible aerodynamics. Incompressible aerodynamics deals with the subsonic flow, whereas compressible aerodynamics deals with transonic, supersonic and hypersonic flow.
