So out of the ordinary is this place that stories that reached Euro-Americans back east were, at first, received with skepticism, but that later gained credibility and led to the establishment of Yellowstone as the nation's first national park for the benefit and enjoyment of the people.
This book is a photojournal of a contemporary journey through Yellowstone National Park. On this journey of rediscovery, we explore stories of the distant geologic past, the unique microbiology, evidence for early humans, and the events leading to the establishment of this national park.
